SPORTS FEDERATIONS SHOULD STRIVE FOR FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE - NKANDU

Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU has challenged sports federations in the country to become financially independent.

Speaking during the launch of the new Kopa kit by the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- in Ndola today, NKANDU said government wants to see to it that all federations wean off the Treasury.

He said the government will continue to support initiatives like the Kopa brand by making it tax free.

In a speech read on his behalf by Director of Sport JOHN ZULU, NKANDU said sport plays a big role in the economy, hence the continued improvement of the Kopa brand.
