An unnamed Saudi Arabia club are closing in on a deal with Rangers to sign Fashion Sakala this summer, according to The 4th Official.
The online outlet has reported that the Bears are in talks over a £4million transfer for the Zambian winger, with interest appearing to come out of nowhere.
Michael Beale has already welcomed seven new signings to Ibrox this summer, but it looks as though exits are now on the agenda ahead of more business.
Writing on their official Patreon page, The 4th Official wrote: “I have been talking with several people throughout the day and it seems Fashion Sakala is also in discussion regarding a move out of Rangers.
“The club in question is from Saudi Arabia and the transfer fee being discussed is £4m.
“It’s not close to done, but discussions are well underway.”
This feels like one of those moves where it may be too good to turn down for the player.
Sakala became somewhat one of the stars under Beale as the season came to a close, but the club may now be heading in a new direction.
Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers and potentially Danilo all being signed may mean that Beale is looking to play more direct and centrally compared to sheer pace out wide.
We have all seen the silly money on offer in Saudi, from transfer fees to the wages available and Sakala may have a life-changing offer on the table.
It will no doubt be a shame to lose Sakala if it was to happen, but £4million would be a solid sale and money that can be reinvested into some valuable new additions.
This is something to watch over the next few days.
