COPPER Queens coach Bruce Mwape has said there is no friction with technical advisor Lisa Cole, stating that the American has brought with her a wealth of experience.

Cole is the latest addition to the women's national team ahead of Zambia's participation at the FIFA World Cup in New Zealand and Australia next month.

The American has been brought in to assist the Mwape-led bench and has been with the team for slightly over a week now.

In an interview with FAZ Media from Germany, Mwape praised the experience that Cole brings to the table.

"She is bringing in her experience from where she was working and she has worked in so many countries and clubs, so the experience that she is bringing will help our team a lot," Mwape said.

"I can say the relationship is fine, we cannot say there is any friction. There is nothing like that both to the players and the technical staff. I can say she has been welcomed," Mwape said.

Cole is a former footballer who has held numerous international coaching positions.

In August 2018, she accompanied the United States U-17 Women's National Soccer Team to South Korea in preparation for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

Cole was also the head coach of the Papua New Guinea U20 Women's National Team in the lead-up to and during the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup from 2015 to 2017.

Meanwhile, Mwape has said World Cup preparations are going on well.

"So far, I can say we have covered most of the bases. We have worked on tactics, techniques, and we are now focusing on physical fitness," Mwape said.

"All I can say is that even with coordination, there is an improvement when you look at the way we played against Tanzania. This time around, things have changed. There has been a lot of improvement," Mwape said.
