Journey to Paris 2024: Mwape Reveals 30-Member Preliminary Squad for Crucial Ghana
Showdown Bruce Mwape, the head coach of Zambia's Women’s National Team, has unveiled the provisional squad ahead of the pivotal encounter against Ghana in the 2024 Paris Olympics Women’s Football Tournament qualifiers. Maintaining continuity from the successful 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualification campaign against Angola, Mwape introduces the dynamic duo of Tabo Miselo and Florence Banda from the FAZ Women’s Super League. Notably, Kabange Mupopo, the Green Buffaloes striker, makes a return after an eight-year hiatus, alongside Elite Ladies midfielder Comfort Selemani, absent from the WAFCON qualifiers against Angola in December. Unfortunately, Red Arrows captain Susan Banda will miss the Ghana matches due to an injury sustained in a FAZ Women's Super League game against Police Dove Queens FC on January 27, 2024.
The initial leg of the clash with Ghana's Black Queens is scheduled for Friday, February 23, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, followed by the return fixture five days later.
