KALU TO RUN FOR FAZ PRESIDENT AGAIN

17.12.2024 | Football DNA

Zambia's football legend and 1988 African Footballer of the Year, Kalusha Bwalya, is reportedly set to throw his hat back into the ring for the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) presidency in the upcoming elections.

According to the Daily Nation Zambia newspaper, sources close to the development have revealed that the former Chipolopolo captain and administrator is expected to officially announce his candidacy this Friday.

Kalusha Bwalya, affectionately known as "Kalu", previously served as FAZ president from 2008 to 2016, a period that saw some notable milestones for Zambian football. However, in 2016, he narrowly lost his bid for re-election to the current president, Andrew Kamanga, during a tightly contested vote at Moba Hotel.

His anticipated return to the race is already sparking discussions within the Zambian football community, with many eager to see how this challenge will shape the future of football governance in the country.

Stay tuned for further updates as we await Kalu’s official declaration and the ensuing campaigns for the top seat in Zambian football administration.
