Chipolopolo physical trainer Jamie Lawrence has been added to the Zambia Women’s National Team technical bench for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted in Australia and New Zealand.
Lawrence will be key to the physical conditioning of the players and his addition to the Bruce Mwape technical bench comes a few weeks after Lisa Cole was incorporated to the Copper Queens setup as technical advisor.
The former Jamaican international immediately got down to work after he was introduced to the players at the Tissot Arena Annex in Bienne.
“He is most welcome and I am sure he will be able to work on the fitness of the players. This is what we what, we want more expertise so that by the time we are getting to the World Cup, everything will be in place,” Copper Queens coach Bruce Mwape said.
The Copper Queens re-enforced technical bench will have a technical advisor, physical trainer, video analyst and nutritionist and FAZ hopes the team will be sharpened ahead of their Group C opener against Japan on 22 July.
