COMOROS MATCH TO BE PLAYED ON SEPT 9 UNDER FLODLIGHTS

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the concluding Ivory Coast 2023 (to be played in 2024) Group H Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Comoros and Zambia will be played on September 9, 2023, at the Stade Moroni Malouizini at 22 hours.

Zambia has already secured its ticket to the AFCON with the draws for the tournament set for October 12 in Abidjan.





Fifteen teams have booked their ticket so far, including Cote d'Ivoire (hosts), Morocco, Algeria, South Africa, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Egypt, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mali and Guinea.


CAF has appointed whistle men from Burundi and Djibouti to handle the Zambia match.

The already qualified Chipolopolo top Group H on 12 points, two better than Ivory Coast whose ticket is already secured as hosts.

Comoros is in third with six points while Lesotho are rock bottom with a point.

Coach Avram Grant will be rolling out his roadmap for preparations against Comoros which will also double as a build up for FIFA World Cup qualifiers that kick off in November.
