Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda has expressed optimism about the group stage draws for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN), describing them as "fair" and exciting. Speaking to ZNBC News, Nyirenda stated that the group stage promises to deliver a highly competitive tournament.

"The draws look fair, but this year’s CHAN edition will be very competitive. Every team in Group A brings something special to the tournament, making it the group to watch," Nyirenda said.

Group A, widely regarded as one of the toughest in the tournament, includes two-time CHAN winners Morocco, former champions the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), hosts Kenya, and Angola. Despite the formidable lineup, Nyirenda is confident in Zambia’s chances, highlighting the strength and quality of his squad.

Adding his voice to the discussion, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Reuben Kamanga assured fans that the Chipolopolo are ready to face the challenge. "We are not intimidated by the names in Group A. Our team is prepared, and we believe in our abilities," Kamanga said.

The draws, conducted in Nairobi, have set the stage for an electrifying tournament. Zambia will need to bring their A-game to navigate through the group, as they face some of the continent's most accomplished teams.

With the tournament drawing closer, Zambian fans are hopeful that the Chipolopolo will rise to the occasion and make a strong statement on the CHAN stage.
