National team players will receive $5,000 each [about K100,000] if they beat Ivory Coast in Saturday's 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts Elvis Nkandu said in Lusaka on Wednesday that government has played it's role of motivating the players ahead of the crucial encounter.
Nkandu is confident that the Chipolopolo will beat the Elephants and qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations set for next January in Ivory Coast.
"When we came into power, we found the players were being paid less money as wining bonuses so we brought it to $5, 000 which I believe is good enough motivation for the team to perform.
A win or draw will see the Chipolopolo qualifying to the next year's finals.
Group H leaders Ivory Coast have 10 points while Zambia is a point behind.
Comoros are on 3 points with Lesotho being a tail enders on a point.
